A root canal is a treatment that removes infected or damaged tissue from inside your tooth.
Once cleaned and sealed, the tooth is protected with a crown so it can continue to function normally without pain or further infection.

Root canals may sound intimidating, but they’re a proven way to stop pain, treat infection, and save your natural tooth. Here’s why patients are often relieved they didn’t put it off:
Removes the source of infection, so the throbbing or sharp pain goes away.
You keep your own tooth rather than needing an extraction and replacement.
Chewing and speaking feel normal again, without sensitivity or pressure.
Treating infection early stops it from spreading to other teeth or tissues.
If you are experiencing tooth pain, sensitivity, or signs of infection, a root canal may be needed to restore your tooth and prevent further damage.
Persistent Pain – You have ongoing tooth pain.
Lingering Sensitivity – You feel sensitivity to hot or cold that lingers.
Swelling or Tenderness – You notice swelling or tenderness near a tooth.
Tooth Discoloration – Your tooth is discolored or darkened.
Deep Damage – You have a deep cavity or cracked tooth.
At R&A Dentistry, we focus on comfort and clear communication at every step. Here’s what to expect during your root canal treatment:
Speak With UsWe take X-rays to see the root of the problem and confirm if a root canal is the best option.
Your tooth and surrounding area are fully numbed to ensure a pain-free experience.
The infected or damaged tissue is removed, and the canal is cleaned and disinfected.
The space is filled with a safe material to prevent future infection.
Depending on the tooth and how much structure remains, we’ll either place a durable filling or a custom crown. Back teeth often need crowns for strength, while front teeth may be restored with a filling if enough tooth remains.
